Marilyn Monroe is a legend and she in our hearts remains to be forever young, beautiful, stoic, courageous and loving.

She is an inspiration for many women. The mixture of human emotions and traits in her are universal for many women of yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

How much do we know of real Marilyn Monroe, not the one we saw in magazines or on TV? What was she really like? What she was not?

Marilyn Monroe could be described as childish and foolish, vulnerable and naive, self doubting and unconfident, fearful and anxious, depressed and self destructing, natural and magical, sweet and tender, stunning and irresistible, kind and caring, loyal and sincere, feminine and graceful, humorous and brave, generous and forgiving, strong and determined, humble and true, talented and unforgettable. This list can go on...

Marilyn Monroe (also known as Norma Jeane Mortenson and Norma Jeane Baker) was born on June 1st, 1926 in Los Angeles. She never knew her father. Her mother (Gladys Pearl Baker) had a nervous breakdown and Marilyn had to spend her childhood in orphanages and foster homes. At age of 11, Marilyn’s main influencer, whom she loved dearly, became Ana Lower ( legal guardian); She was the one who taught Marilyn that the mind could achieve anything if it wished to. Marilyn dropped out of school by the age of 15 and she got married at 16 to the neighbor. She was discovered as a model first and then eventually she became an iconic movie star. Not all her movies were considered a success. She was married 3 times: (Spouse: James Dougherty (m 1942 - 1946), DiMaggio (m 1954 - 1955), Arthur Miller (m 1956 - 1961)). She was supposedly involved in the relationships with John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, Frank Sinatra, Marlon Brando, Joan Crawford and others. She had no kids. She died on August 5, 1962 at the age of 36. Official sources stated she overdosed herself with pills and commited suicide. Non officially it was believed by many she was murdered. Mystery of her death remains unsolved.

Plenty of books are written in memory of Marilyn Monroe. Read one or few, if you care, to find out more about her. You can also watch rare documentary about her by following this link
